Our greatest concern is the well-being of your pet, especially during anesthesia. Prior to anesthesia, our staff will obtain a complete history of your pet and the veterinarian will perform a thorough physical examination to provide us with necessary information about your pet’s health. Although a physical exam will allow us to check vital signs - bloodwork is the only way to accurately assess the status of important internal organ function to maintain a safe anesthetic experience. If bloodwork results are normal we will proceed with a greater degree of confidence and we will have established an excellent set of baseline values to use/compare against if your pet becomes ill in the future. In the event abnormalities are noticed, you will be contacted prior to surgery by the veterinarian.
