Our Veterinary Technicians' Responsibilities Include:
- providing animal care by determining pets individual requirements
- acquiring patient history
- performing diagnostic procedures under the direction of a veterinarian
- assisting and monitoring patient vital signs during surgical procedures
- maintaining supplies and equipment
- completing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
- taking vital signs and collecting samples
- administering medications and vaccines
- supporting animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments
- placing intravenous catheters
- maintaining sterile conditions
- cleaning animal cages and equipment
- maintaining a safe and healthy environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sterilizing treatment areas, and complying with OSHA and AAHA regulations
- enhancing our service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Qualifications
To join The Waggin' Train Crew you must:
- be a team player
- have previous experience in an animal medical position, resulting in a strong veterinary and animal behavior knowledge
- be able to grow and learn from constructive criticism
- be willing to work 40 hours a week & some Saturdays
- be able to be respectful in situations you are uncomfortable in
- be able to have an educated conversation with others
- posses an unconditional love for pets and their owners
Required Skills
We are looking for compassionate, outgoing team members with great communication, excellent documentation skills, patience, and attention to detail.
Schedule Requirements
Monday-Friday: 7am-5pm
Saturday: 8am-12pm
